| A Japanese court Wednesday sentenced a 38-year-old man to death for killing three people to fulfill sexual desires.
Hiroshi Maeue had been convicted in the Osaka District Court on charges of killing three despondent people he had found on a Web site oriented toward suicide, The Asahi Shimbun said.
Maeue had been charged with killing a 14-year-old boy, a 25-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man. After convincing his victims they would engage in a group suicide, Maeue met them separately and strangled each of them.
Presiding Judge Kazuo Mizushima said the killings, which occurred over four months in 2005, were especially cruel.
"His act of killing three people within four months only for his abnormal desire was cruel," the judge said.
