Interstate Highway 35 covers some 740 miles from Salina, Kansas, in the north, to Laredo, Texas, on the Mexican border. More than half the highway's length -- in excess of 420 miles -- runs north-to-south across the Lone Star State, past Gainesville, Denton, splitting to accommodate the twin giants of Dallas-Ft. Police are searching for a man who has killed five women and a man in at least three Midwestern states and three more women in Texas. Their prime suspect is male in his mid-20s to early 30s. He is described as thin, 5-foot-7, with sandy blond hair with a reddish tint and a day-old beard. [ReadOn]

It seems that two women, pretending to be damsels in distress, have smoked eight men between 1989 and 1991 on I-75 in Florida. All the victims were middle-aged men driving alone. All were shot with a .22-caliber gun and their bodies were dumped in out-of-the-way places.[ReadOn]

Between October 1955 and August 1957, six Chicago teenagers were slaughtered in a grisly string of homicides which have remained unsolved for more than thirty years. Ellen O'Hara, age 92, was awaiting hip surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital, in the Chicago suburb of Downer's Grove, when she died on October 19, 1979. Autopsy surgeons blamed her death on hypoglycemia - abnormally low blood sugar - induced by unknown causes. [ReadOn]

One killer may be responsible for murders of two Seattle women whose bodies were dumped in the Index area in 1988. Both victims, known prostitutes and drug users, were stabbed.
